Play is a hot topic these days, and every article I read on the subject reinforces for me the “rightness” of the Circle School experience.

Thanks, Jim, for the reminder to play. Us adults have often forgotten how to do it. And thanks for the reference to http://boingboing.net/2013/01/15/a-more-resilient-species.html as it offers interesting thoughts about it.
You may also find some excellent ideas from Stephen Jepson, in his youtubes called “Never leave the playground”. He invented all the toys, most of which can be made very inexpensively, and perhaps some of your students may be interested. I’m starting to create some similar projects in my yard, to keep me sharp and active and laughing at myself as I age!
